Vote YES on the February 2nd Bond/ Mill Levy Initiative
During the December Fed Rep meeting, ATF members passed a motion to support the upcoming Mill Levy/ School Bond ballot initiative that will be voted on during the February 2, 2016 election. This bond will provide much needed money for school renovations, new construction and technology. Click here to see the motion.
We urge our members and their families to vote YES on the Bond/Mill Levy initiative on February 2nd, 2016.
We’ve already seen some negative energy devoted to killing this initiative. False attacks on public education deceivingly imply that taxes will be raised if the bond passes. (For the record, taxes will not be raised as a result of a “yes” vote.) In fact, the paper went out of its way to write an editorial that was more about perpetuating their hate campaign against APS than understanding that this vote is simply about well-deserved modern teaching and learning conditions.
It’s important that we spread the word! Once again, we will hit the streets to talk to voters. We need your help knocking on doors and phone banking! ATF’s involvement in this election will be essential to ensuring that the public school facilities in which our members work are resourced properly and provide a better environment for both students and educators alike.
