Dossier Support

Since 2003, your union has helped teachers advance in the NM 3-Tiered licensure system by providing support in writing and submitting Professional Development Dossiers.

The Albuquerque Teachers Federation provides four support services for teachers working on the Professional Development Dossier: PDD Overview Sessions, PDD Study Groups, Individual Readings and Resubmission Readings.

In order to advance in the New Mexico 3-Tiered Licensure System, most teachers will need to successfully complete the Professional Development Dossier (PDD).

ALL teachers must successfully complete their Dossier between their third and fifth year of teaching in order to receive their Level 2 license. Failure to pass the dossier by the end of the fifth year on Level 1 will result in a non-renewal of license.

Teachers who have a Master’s degree and have held a Level 2 license for at least 3 years can opt to complete a second Professional Development Dossier to move to Level 3. Level 2 teachers can also choose to pursue National Board Certification, with or without a Master’s, to move to Level 3.

Click the events below to register for an Overview Class. email us to attend a Small Group Session, Individual Reading or Resubmission Reading.

STATUS UPDATE: Your union filed a lawsuit against the Value-Added formula used in PED’s teacher evaluation model. As a result, a temporary injunction has been granted, which holds harmless all teachers who would have been penalized by this formula.
