Most sites have received preliminary budget documents and are starting conversations with Instructional Councils about priorities for 2023-2024. Last year APS and ATF agreed to support Instructional Councils with a standardized budget template to help you in working with school budgets. You can download the template here. Please share it widely among all staff.
What would I do if our union could decide how to spend $371 million? I would focus on two initiatives.
First: Ensure that the SEG has sufficient funding for discretionary local programs and priorities.
Second: More adult time for educators to learn, plan and prepare. Collaboration has been proven to improve student outcomes.

Make your well being a priority and join Tracy Nichols, Teacher-Librarian, for a blissful hour of SEL…for you! Educators, your social and emotional wellness correlates directly with your students’ welfare. The “Breathe For Change” program sets out to put educators’ health and wellness at the center by providing amazingly effective strategies to improve wellbeing. Participants will leave with a greater sense of well-being, as well as a toolkit of SEL techniques and games you can easily incorporate in the classroom.
