According to the New Mexico Department of Health (NM DOH), educators will be in one of the first groups to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Last week, NM DOH announced that New Mexico is ready to move into Phase 1B of their vaccination plan which should include educators. View the phases chart »
APS educators, are you ready and willing to take the vaccine? Your union wants to hear your comments and questions? Please send them to us.
As of last week, nearly 300,000 New Mexicans had registered to take the vaccine at the state’s website. That’s well over 10% of New Mexicans.
State officials believe it is the only system of its kind in the country and it follows a simple process:
- Users submit basic contact information, such as employment category and medical conditions.
- Users are then contacted to fill out additional demographic & insurance information.
- Users will receive a notification to schedule a vaccination and will fill out a medical questionnaire about their current health.
NM DOH now has a hotline that offers support for questions surrounding vaccine registration. Users who have other vaccine-related questions can call 1-855-600-3453 and simply press option 0 for vaccine questions.
